NextGen Office Adds Change RX and Cancel RX To Their Cloud Based EHR

NextGen Office Adds Change RX and Cancel RX To Their Cloud Based EHR

One of the key benefits of a cloud based EHR is using the automation it provides to save precious provider and staff time by automating routine, labor intensive task.  Phone calls to and from pharmacies, while important are a big drain on a providers and key staff members time.

The healthcare industry is moving toward less phone calls and more electronic communication with patients, other healthcare providers and with pharmacies.

Two new enhancements in NextGen Office EHR/PM, Change Rx and Cancel Rx further enhance electronic communication to pharmacists. Using these two new enhancements providers and or authorized staff can change or cancel a prescription directly from the EHR without having to get on the phone with the pharmacy. Furthermore the change action is documented and the patient’s medication list is automatically updated.

When a pharmacy requests a change to an electronic prescription, you receive the changed prescription on the Pharmacy Alerts: Pharmacy Messages page.

You can perform the following actions to a change request:
