Patient Quick Entry
Patient Quick Entry is a feature designed to redefine the way Medisoft is used. Each office has its own needs. Data entry needs vary from state to state and from insurance carrier to insurance carrier. Traditionally, when entering patient information, it has been up to the users to know which fields to use, and which fields to ignore. Additionally, users have been required to navigate between multiple fields on the patient and case entry screens, which contain vital claim information. Patient Quick Entry will consolidate patient entry into one easy screen that will allow users to define which fields they want to view, which fields they want required, the order in which the fields are displayed, and define the hints that will be displayed when the mouse hovers over each field. Dashboard
Medisoft Version 16 has features that focus on enhancing the way you use Medisoft on a day to day basis. The Dashboard is one of these features. Using the Dashboard, you will be able to get totals and values in real time that previously required running reports. You will also be able to see which users are logged in and where. You will see trending graphs previously unavailable from Medisoft. Finally, you will be able to create custom warnings that will indicate when certain key values such as Accounts Receivable decrease below a user-defined range. To view the new Dashboard click here.
Global Days or Global Surgery
A Global fee for surgical procedures is a long established concept under which a single fee is billed and paid for all necessary services normally performed by the surgeon before, during, and after the surgical procedure. The global reimbursement, as listed, includes the pre-operative care necessary for the specific surgical procedure, completion of hospital records, initiation of treatment, local anesthesia (including local infiltration, digital block, or topical anesthesia), the surgical procedure, and post-operative care that normally follows the specific surgical procedure.
Global Surgery includes all necessary services normally furnished by a surgeon before, during and after the procedure. Payment for a surgical procedure includes pre-, intra-, and post- operative services routinely performed by the surgeon.
UB-04
The UB-04 is a standard insurance claim form similar to the CMS-1600; however, it is used primarily for institutional billing as opposed to clinical billing. Based on feedback we have received from our customers, this feature is necessary for targeting offices in rural health clinics, nursing homes, and hospice centers to name a few.
The UB-04 feature is a two-year project, and Medisoft Version
16 represents year one of this project. Medisoft Version
16 will offer users the ability to print paper UB-04 insurance forms, including a format that prints with the form. Additionally, we are including an UBFILE.EXE that will allow print image creation similar to the HCFAFILE.EXE and CMSFILE.EXE files. Medisoft is tentatively planning to release ANSI Institutional Claims as part of Medisoft Version
16.
ERA Date Enhancements
The Prompt for Date has been included in Medisoft Version
16 which allows the user to specify the date of payments. This option is located in the new Date of Deposit field on the Data Entry tab in Program Options. Click the Prompt for Date radio button to enable this feature. When posting payments, you will be prompted to enter the date you want to appear on the payments.
File Locking in Deposit Entry
In previous versions of Medisoft, opening the Apply Payment to Charges window in Deposit Entry locked out all other program features. There is a new View Transactions button which opens a Read Only Transaction Entry window with the same account from the Deposit List. This feature allows access and operability to all of the functions within Medisoft. However, if an active patient is opened in the Deposits lists, they appear in Read Only mode.
Now when the Apply Payments screen is open, you are free to navigate the rest of the program, including Deposit Entry and the Quick Ledger! |
