An easy to use, friendly, patient web portal is a key element in today's medical practice. Patient use of the NextGen Office patient portal leads to more engaged and happier patients, less work for your staff and results in faster documentation of the patient encounter - getting you out of the office on time with your charting done

Today an overwhelming number of Americans use technology solutions such as smartphones and iPads to manage much of their lives, including their healthcare.

Multiple studies have shown that an important key to patient satisfaction and engagement is a patient friendly web portal that adds value to the patients care experience.

The Nextgen Office Web Portal is a great tool that your patients can access from almost any device: smartphone, iPad, Apple Mac or Windows computer.

If you aren’t using it yet the portal can offer your patients the following

  • Search for open appointments

  • Book their own appointments (can be turned on or off!)

  • See and pay their bill

  • Communicate securely with the practice

  • View and sign the practices forms and policies

  • Enter medical, social, family, surgical histories

  • View labs and medications

  • Request refills

  • Text based appointment reminders

  • Practice Announcements

And much more…

Here's how to quickly give your patient’s access to the NextGen Office Premium Patient Portal:

New Patients - Self Registration

The Self Registration feature enables new patients to self-register on the Patient Portal.  NextGen Office EHR sends the patient an email invitation with a link to begin the registration process. The patient is presented with a streamlined process that creates a temporary new patient record, and has the option to complete the full registration form to create the final chart. This feature saves the practice time and eliminates the need to create the patient chart in advance of enabling portal access.Providers can send a patient a self-registration invitation email from the patient roster and a new patient appointment.

Simply click "Send Invitation to Self Register" then enter 4 simple fields: Name, email and phone is all that are required to send the invite - Note - this does not add the patient to your NextGen Office until they complete the registration.

Self Registration from the Scheduler

You can also send a self registration link from the schedule. The workflow case here would be a new patient calls and asks for an appointment at on a particular day and time. Simply go to that appointment slot, enter their name, phone and email - then click "Self Registration Link" and let them finish their own registration on line.

Once the patient is added you can then send them the link:

Selecting "Send Self Registration" emails the patient the link to register and step by step instructions on how to complete their registration.

Existing Patients - Self Registration

To send a Self Registration link to an existing patient simply click Patient Roster, Self Registration tab, Send Self Registration
